About B Trousseau

B Trousseau is Beth Bennett.  The word trousseau means, ‘a bride’s clothes’.  And the B, well, that’s obvious….

“I came to the world of bridal design through the avenue of costume design and technology.  After working in professional theatre in Chicago and New York, I moved to Atlanta to pursue designing, and a relationship, in Dixieland.  It was a period of discovery.  First, I learned that I was definitely a Yankee, secondly that he was not the “right” one, and thirdly that the world of custom bridal was where I wanted to land.  I had been hired to work with Opulent Creations, a small custom bridal company.  I was their design assistant, draper, cutter, seamstress, fitter, student, and friend.  I never knew that making a custom wedding dress for someone could be so creative and design fulfilling.

I have never looked back.  I continued to work in conjunction with O. C. for several years, even after I moved “back home” to Indiana.  Over the course of ten years, I have made dresses, veils, and headpieces for many discerning and imaginative brides.

Everything has come full circle, and 2007 has been a good year.  B Trousseau now has a home; the studio opened in August. Oh, and I was married this year ( I ultimately found the “right” one).”
